pompeii is an ruined, ancient city that was buried under volcanic ash when Mt Vesuvius erupted. pompeii was lost for nearly 1700 years until it was accidently discovered they found remains of food and people and animals that were buried alive. as they slowly dug down they found buildings and roads. they can now see what it was like in pompeii. pompeii is found near modern Napales in italy.It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions and is a world heritage site.
